The College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) at Lawrence Technological University prepares architects and designers to address 21st-century challenges through critical inquiry, creative problem-solving, and applied practice.
CoAD’s multidisciplinary approach integrates design excellence with advanced technologies, international perspectives, and strong industry connections. Through studio-based learning, hands-on making, and engagement with real-world contexts, students learn to think critically, work across disciplines, and translate ideas into tangible outcomes within complex systems.
Faculty are active scholars and practitioners, and students regularly collaborate with industry and community partners. Graduates leave CoAD prepared not only to enter professional practice, but to shape it, bringing ethical awareness, technical fluency, and strategic thinking to the design of buildings, spaces, products, interfaces, games, and more.

View graduating student work and alumni projects, speak with student exhibitors, celebrate exemplary student projects during the awards ceremony, and join us for a special lecture with renowned architect and Principal at Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, Billie Tsien.
The show demonstrates CoAD’s dedication to inspiring, educating, and motivating architecture and design leaders through “theory and practice,” LTU’s foundational pedagogy. CoAD offers the following degrees: architecture (BS, MArch), game design (BFA), graphic design (BFA), interior design (BS), product design (BS), transportation design (BS), and design and technology (MA).
With curricula focused on design, immersed in technology, and grounded in practice, students are empowered to thoughtfully enter current and future modes of practice, and to expand the conversations so that architecture and design might be more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable.

“In the College of Architecture and Design at LTU, we are constantly thinking about teaching, we adapt new classroom attitudes, and experiment with new ways of sharing our knowledge. Technology and quickly evolving industry innovations charge the output from our design studios and courses. Our focus on design, technology, and practice results in exciting new work of our students.
I am excited to introduce and share ur new online gallery. This is not only a short term mode of translating the traditional gallery show to an online format but a perpetual outlet to celebrate and share the work of our students. I hope this CoAD gallery extends the timeline and extends the geography of our efforts, initiating a broader critical discussion on our efforts, culture, and desire to broaden the mindset, reach, and impact of design.”
