Professional Background

Lilian Crum is the Interim Dean for the College of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Technological University, where she also teaches as a tenured Associate Professor of Design. She is a partner and creative director at Unsold Studio, an award-winning design studio that focuses on producing work for creative culture, lifestyle brands, and the public good. She has spoken about design and her practice in Singapore, The United Arab Emirates, Canada, Portugal, Russia, and across the United States. In 2016, Lilian represented Detroit and the United States as a UNESCO Creative Cities of Design Delegate in Singapore. In 2020, she was named a Notable Woman in Design by Crain’s Detroit Business, and in 2023, she was named as one of the members of the “Oakland Together 40 under 40” class.  She received her MFA in 2D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art and her HBA in Art and Art History from the University of Toronto and Sheridan College.
