Guest, Special, and Non-Degree Seeking Students

Guest Students

If you are looking to take a course(s) at Lawrence Tech for the purpose of satisfying your degree requirements at another institution, you are considered a Guest Student and must meet the requirements listed below. Students must be considered in good standing at their current institution to be eligible to complete guest credit at Lawrence Tech. Guest students are not eligible for scholarships or financial aid from LTU.

  1. Complete a Lawrence Tech Application. Be sure to add the LTU course number and name that you are looking to take.

  1. Complete the Michigan Uniform Undergraduate Guest Application. There is a portion for you to complete, as well as a portion for your current school to complete. The form is also available from the Office of the Registrar at your current institution.
  2. Submit unofficial transcripts from your current institution. If there are prerequisites for a class that you have met with SAT or AP scores, please submit those as well. You may upload to your application or email to specialadmit@ltu.edu.

After all of these items are submitted, you will be notified via email if you are admitted and registration directions will be sent to you.

At the end of the semester when you want to have LTU transcripts sent back to your institution, please request them here.

Special/Non-Degree Seeking Students

If you are looking to take a class(es) and are not pursuing a degree at any institution, you are considered a Special Student or a Non-Degree Seeking Student. Please submit the application and prerequisite materials listed below. Students are not eligible for scholarships or financial aid from LTU.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
