If you have attended any institution of higher education (on any basis, for any length of time) following graduation from high school you are considered a transfer student.
The admissions team will look for reliable predictors of your success at Lawrence Tech. They will closely read your essay and weigh your GPA for the number and difficulty of your classes, proof of your ability to accomplish the goals you set for yourself.
If you have completed 30 or more credit hours, admission is based upon your college GPA. Both official college and high school transcripts are required. If you have completed fewer than 30 credit hours, admission is based upon your high school transcripts.
LTU has a rolling admission policy. That means qualified applicants are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. For you, it means that you need to get your application in as soon as possible and you will get a response in an estimated two weeks.
To keep your options open for financial aid, you and your family will have to complete a FAFSA form early in the year. It is the form that the federal government uses to award grants, scholarships and loans. It is also used by LTU to make decisions on some of its scholarships. Check the FAFSA website for deadlines. Use the code 002279 to have your completed FAFSA form sent to Lawrence Tech.
Whether you are transferring from a two-year or four-year school, our admissions team can help ensure a smooth transition.
A specific number of earned credits is not required, but competitive transfer students typically have two or more semesters of transferable college coursework. Students with less than two semesters can apply for transfer admission, however in the evaluation process emphasis will be placed on their high school record.
