SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—Lawrence Technological University has received official reaffirmation of accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the College of Health Sciences, extending the program’s CCNE accreditation for 10 years.
“Receiving reaffirmed CCNE accreditation is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students, and to our ongoing commitment to preparing highly competent nursing professionals,” said Margaret Glembocki, associate professor and director of nursing at LTU. “This achievement reflects our dedication to providing a high-quality educational experience that meets rigorous national standards. Graduates of our program can enter the workforce knowing they have been prepared through an accredited program focused on excellence in nursing education.”
CCNE is a nationally recognized accrediting agency for baccalaureate and graduate nursing education programs. The accreditation process includes a comprehensive self-study and an on-site evaluation by peer reviewers. The reviewers assess programs against CCNE standards related to curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, institutional support, and continuous improvement.
Graduating from a CCNE-accredited program provides important benefits for students. Accreditation is valued by healthcare employers and may be required or strongly preferred by many graduate nursing programs for students who choose to continue their education at the master’s or doctoral level.
LTU’s Nursing Program admitted its first cohort of students in 2017 and continues to prepare graduates for careers in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
