In addition to building valuable connections to the campus community and your peers, living on campus provides convenient and easy access to classes, student organization activities, sporting events, and Southfield – a metropolitan area vibrant with music, culture, and plenty of restaurant choices.

East Hall is a traditional, community style residence hall that houses first-year LTU students. The community style enhances University Housing staff’s ability to assist students in their transition to college through intentional programming and attention. East is located to the east of Donley Hall, and just a short walk away from the Buell Management building and Atrium.

  • Common area bathrooms cleaned by professionals daily
  • Free laundry available on every floor
  • Variety of different study spaces and community lounges throughout the building
  • Free black and white printing
  • Two Residents Assistants per floor, front information desk, and on call staff available to help residents 24/7
  • Full-time, Live-In Professional Staff – Residence Hall Coordinator
  • Large community space on 1st floor of West Wing, a.k.a. Weast. Weast is open to the LTU community until 8pm. There is no access to residential rooms from Weast.  Weast includes:
    • Gym
    • Community Kitchen with a sink, stove, and seating
    • Lounge and Study Spaces
    • Community Bathrooms

Reuss Hall is a traditional, community style residence hall that houses primarily sophomore and junior students at LTU.

Building Features

Floor Plan

  • A 5-pod style housing with a 150 resident building capacity.
  • All rooms are double occupancy and are assigned by sex.
  • Pods may be co-ed depending on occupancy needs.
  • Each pod is equipped with its own personal lounge featuring a television and lounge furniture as well as a kitchenette with microwave, and sink.
  • Common restrooms that are cleaned professionally twice a day.
  • Several common area spaces throughout the building, including conference spaces and a game room.
  • Two laundry rooms.
  • Full time, live on professional (Residence Hall Coordinator) available daily.
  • At least two Resident Assistants per pod to mentor residents. One Resident Assistant lives on each floor of each pod.

South  Hall is located on Ten Mile Rd. just south of campus. This nine-story residence hall accommodates 337 residents in 131 apartment style suites.

What to Bring to South [PDF]

Per the University Housing Guidelines, residents are not permitted to use the balconies in the South Hall apartments.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
