Hinana – Limerick, Ireland

In the Spring of 2025, I was given an opportunity to study abroad at the University of Limerick in Ireland. As a nursing student, taking a course in a different country allowed me to explore differences in healthcare systems and gain new perspectives on health promotion, patient care, and public health practices.

Limerick, Ireland is full of beautiful landscapes, and the university campus is a perfect reflection of that. The Shannon River runs through campus, surrounded by peaceful walking trails filled with unique wildlife, and at night, you can see the stars. If you’re looking to experience a relaxed pace of life, Ireland will be perfect for you.

During my time in Limerick, I was able to join a local soccer team, Janesboro FC, and a pickup league on campus. Playing with them was a great way to stay active and gave me a unique opportunity to immerse myself in Irish culture and connect with the community on a deeper level.

The city center was just a short bus ride away, offering access to traditional Irish shops, restaurants, and historic castles.

I will always remember my experience abroad in Limerick, as it helped me grow personally, create lasting friendships, and build memories that I will cherish forever. If you have the chance to study abroad, I hope you consider taking it — you certainly won’t regret the experience it brings!
