Livonia-Westland Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Lawrence Technological University and the Livonia-Westland Chamber of Commerce are partners in engaging the Livonia-Westland community in education, training, and development for the Michigan talent pipeline. It is our goal to offer scholarship funding to attend Lawrence Tech, one of thirteen independent, technological, comprehensive, doctoral universities in the country.

Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Scholarship Value is $18,000 per year. The deadline to apply is June 1.
  • This is a Stand Alone Scholarship, this will not be allowed to be combined with any other merit, athletic or any other LTU scholarship
  • Must be employed by participating pre-approved partnership company or be a son/daughter (dependent) of someone employed with a partnership company (defined as a traditional-aged student within one year of high school graduation). Transfer students who are dependents of someone employed at a partnership company are approved on a one-to-one basis prior to enrollment.
  • Students are eligible to receive their full offered scholarship as long as they are registered for at least 15 credit hours in the fall semester and 15 credit hours in the spring semester. Students enrolled in 12 – 14 credit hours will receive a prorated scholarship. The remaining portion of the scholarship can be applied toward summer classes. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours to receive a portion of the scholarship.
  • Continued enrollment (no stop outs or scholarship is forfeited).
  • Summers not included.
  • Remain in good academic standing with no past due balances.
  • Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Valid 8 semesters or 4 years.

Graduate Students

  • Scholarship Value is $10,000 per year.
  • Minimum of 3 credit hours to qualify.
  • Remain in good academic standing with no past due balances.
  • Cannot be combined with any other university scholarships or grants.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a new incoming student with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Must be employed by an approved chamber business or be the son/daughter (dependent) of someone employed by an approved chamber business (defined as a traditional-aged student within one year of high school graduation)
  • Must continue enrollment (no stop outs)
  • This is a stand alone scholarship and cannot be combined with merit, athletic, or any other LTU scholarship

In order for this fund to disburse to a student account under the Livonia-Westland Chamber of Commerce Scholarship this completed form must be submitted two weeks before the beginning of the semester.
