Kuru Footwear Scholarship Program

We believe that every college student has the potential to transform their dreams into reality. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the Footsteps to Your Future Scholarship 2025!

The Footsteps to Your Future Scholarship has been established to support and empower students in their pursuit of academic and professional excellence.

The winner will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses, including undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the 2024-2025 academic year.

» Eligibility

To be eligible for the KURU Footwear Footsteps to Your Future Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a US citizen
  • Be an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior entering the Spring 2025 semester
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Pursuing a degree (open to all majors)
  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university for the Spring 2025 semester
  • Submit a 300-400 word essay answering the following question: “Describe the steps you are currently taking to work towards your future dreams and goals. Consider both your academic and extracurricular activities in college as well as any initiatives or pursuits outside of college."

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
