(1) To advance the research and scholarly mission of Lawrence Technological University by fostering a culture of research excellence, promoting opportunities for faculty to obtain grant and fellowship funding, and facilitating innovative, collaborative, and student-focused projects.
(2) To support faculty in their unique research and scholarship activities by providing professional mentorship, assistance in identification of grant, fellowship, and partnership opportunities, support in grant-writing and project management, and promotion and advocacy of faculty scholarship within LTU and to the broader LTU community.
(3) To advise on the distribution of resources, such as seed grant awards and facility utilization, and to identify current and potential areas of research strength for promotion, marketing, and recruitment.
(4) To provide faculty with mentorship and support in navigating the expectations for research and discipline-specific scholarship required for obtaining tenure and promotion, and to provide expert, discipline-specific, and fairness-minded assistance to mid-tenure, tenure, and promotion committees.
(5) To uphold a steadfast commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, which make the University and broader scholarship communities intellectually richer, more innovative, more creative, and more productive.
