The Geotechnical Laboratory was recently renovated with the addition of new testing equipment, and student work station benches. The laboratory is equipped to handle standard material testing related to soil, concrete, wood, metal, and plastic. The soil testing equipment allows for investigation of index properties of soils, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), consolidation, direct shear, unconfined compression, compaction, and triaxial testing. The laboratory has recently developed technology related to thermal properties of geomaterials.
