Law enforcement agencies in the United States are mandated to follow the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy for building, maintaining, and operating their IT infrastructure.
Each department appoints a Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) to ensure compliance with these guidelines, which cover secure data access, network configuration, and the development of internal policies for lawful and proper system usage. As CJIS requirements evolve and expand, the challenge to remain compliant with FBI protocol becomes increasingly time-consuming.
Agentic AI is an emerging technology that leverages Large Language Models that can autonomously perform tasks, make decisions, and take actions on behalf of users without constant human intervention. This project consists of the design and development of an Agentic AI system using AutoGen to address the aforementioned challenge.
The Agentic system is capable of parsing the latest CJIS policy updates, identifying sections that require written policies or PowerShell automation, and generating the necessary outputs. This Agentic system significantly reduces implementation time for LASOs and helps agencies maintain uninterrupted access to CJIS data.
