The Biomaterials and Histology Lab is used to develop new biomaterials and explore their application in orthopedics, drug delivery and tissue engineering.

Studying the biologic reaction to implanted materials is critical to the success of medical devices.

The biomaterials and histology laboratory has been utilized both by the Biomedical Engineering and Natural Sciences Departments. The lab serves to support BME 4801 Tissue Engineering Lab and BME 5303 Orthopedics, graduate and undergraduate research, as well as senior design capstone projects.
