Program Overview

Time of Year: Fall/Winter semester (Sept. – Feb.), Spring/Summer semester (Mar. – Aug.)

Academic Year: Junior or Senior standing

Application Method: Submit Application online, print it out and get it signed by Study Abroad Office to be submitted to Esslingen with additional requirements.

Application Deadline: Fall/Winter – May 30, Spring/Summer – Nov. 30

Areas of Study: Computer Sciences, Engineering, Mechanical and Systems Engineering, Mobility and Technology Science, Energy and Building Services, and Nursing Sciences

Program Description: Participants can take part in a German language and Civilization and Culture course, in addition to their regular coursework. Students study with German classmates during their time at Esslingen, taking part in regular activities and exams. The university also provides orientation weeks with excursions to give participants insight into German culture.

Accommodations: Residence Halls (recommended) or independent Housing (expensive, unfurnished, high demand)

Approximate Program Costs: $2,200 – $3,050 plus LTU Tuition costs

Included in Costs: Accommodations, Administrative fee, Student Union fee

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to โ€œDo not disturbโ€ since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select โ€œshare contentโ€ and โ€œscreenโ€ to share your cell phoneโ€™s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select โ€œstart broadcastโ€ from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view โ€“ but you will see โ€˜how you are doingโ€™ in the main Zoom session.
