This course investigates the increasing global burden of mental health disorders as an unaddressed and significant public health challenge at national and international levels. Discussed will be areas to improve health access by integrating mental health care into primary care services and improving access, affordable, and acceptable services to people with mental health problems and their families.

  • A Master’s level degree or equivalent in healthcare-related or allied health fields.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in healthcare or related fields as real-world experience helps conceptual theory practice and allows for better peer-to- peer discussions. The DHS is a research degree that has many components of a practice degree; therefore, field experience is essential.
  • Grade point average: A 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Letters of reference: Two letters of reference.
  • Resume/CV
  • Transfer credits: At present, a maximum of nine (9) credits can be applied and approved towards the doctorate.
