» Program Overview

The Digital Media Arts (DMA) program provides hands-on training in video production, post-production, and digital content creation. Designed for students who want to jumpstart a career in media without committing to a four-year degree, this program prepares graduates for entry-level roles at video production companies, post-production facilities, advertising agencies, corporate marketing, news media, TV production, and film sets.

DMA students gain real-world experience in:

  • Videography & Production – Operating cameras, setting up lighting, and recording high-quality audio
  • Storytelling & Scriptwriting – Writing and structuring content for web, social media, and video production
  • Editing Video – Using non-linear editing software to cut, enhance, and finalize professional video content
  • Motion Graphics – Designing animated graphics for video and marketing use
  • Web & Social Media – Creating and maintaining a personal portfolio website and leveraging social media for self-promotion
  • Video Distribution – Exporting and uploading videos for online platforms

 

Upon completion, graduates will have the technical skills and creative vision to develop, produce, edit, and distribute professional-quality digital media projects. Whether pursuing careers in film, advertising, or online content creation, DMA graduates will be ready to step into the industry with confidence.

This course introduces students to video production, emphasizing both technical skills and storytelling. Using professional cameras, students will learn how to plan, capture, and edit high-quality video projects.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
