SOUTHFIELD—Plugging electric vehicles into the Grid may become more difficult in the future as millions of EVs are sold. What energy sources will automakers use to operate EVs in the future?
A panel of auto industry experts will discuss this dilemma on May 24 at Lawrence Technological University in a “breakfast and learn” panel discussion that is free to the public. Seating is limited to the first 100, so registering in advance is a must. Powering Electric Vehicles runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in LTU’s University Technology and Learning Center Gallery (building 3 at www.ltu.edu/map). Ample free parking is available nearby in Lots A or G.
The panel will consist of senior executives from Toyota, Hitachi, Comcast and the State of Michigan’s Mobility Office. The program is presented by the online publication Global Auto Mobility, MITechNews.Com, Yellow Flag Productions, Workshifter, Detroit Media Productions, Smart Mobility Today, the Engineering Society of Detroit, and LTU. Matt Roush, a longtime tech journalist who is now managing editor of LTU media services for Yellow Flag, is the moderator.
Powering EVs will also give an award to David E. Cole, a retired University of Michigan engineering professor who also is the founder of the Center for Automotive Research, in honor of his long service to the automotive industry. His father, Ed Cole, was a former President of General Motors.
