Letter From the President

Dear Beyond Boundaries Reader,

At Lawrence Technological University, we have always believed that education is most powerful when theory and practice come together in meaningful ways.

That belief continues to define who we are. It shapes how we teach, how we innovate, and how we prepare students to lead in a world that increasingly demands both technical excellence and adaptability. Every day, I see this reflected across our campus—in students who embrace complex challenges with determination, in faculty who connect research and creativity to real-world impact, and in alumni whose LTU experience continues to influence the way they lead and serve in their professions and communities.

This issue of Beyond Boundaries captures that spirit in remarkable ways.

In Engineering the Curve, you will meet an extraordinary 14-year-old engineering student whose talent is matched by a desire to use his knowledge in service of others. The accomplishments of our students at the AEI Student Design Competition demonstrate the discipline, collaboration, and professional readiness that have long distinguished an LTU education. And in Calm Under Pressure, you will read a powerful example of how preparation, judgment, and hands-on learning can make a meaningful difference when it matters most.

While each story is unique, together they reflect a common principle: learning at LTU is designed to perform beyond the classroom. That expectation continues to guide our growth as a university.

Today, we are expanding the College of Health Sciences to help meet critical workforce needs. We are growing dual enrollment and early college pathways that increase access and opportunity for students across our region. Through the Centrepolis Accelerator, we are strengthening partnerships with industry to move innovative ideas into practice through product development, commercialization, and entrepreneurial support. And with the launch of advanced graduate programs—including the Doctor of Engineering in Advanced Manufacturing, Doctor of Business Administration, and Doctor of Health Sciences—we are investing in areas where the demand for leadership, expertise, and innovation continues to grow.

Although our university continues to evolve, our purpose remains constant. For generations, the LTU community has built a culture rooted in curiosity, resilience, and professional excellence. Many of you helped establish that foundation, and your continued connection to the university plays an important role in shaping what comes next.
