SOUTHFIELD – Since 2018, Lawrence Technological University’s College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) has recognized CoAD freshmen and undergraduate transfer students for their imaginative submissions in the Five Images Scholarship competition. This year, 12 students received a scholarship or an honorable mention. Each student submitted five images or videos of their creative work using a variety of media and scales that showcased past accomplishments, current interests, and future aspirations.

The students’ work all aligned with the following academic programs:

The Five Images

The students were invited to submit images of their hand- or digitally- generated, dynamic or static drawings, paintings, woodworking, performance, graphics, metalworking, fabric, sculpture, fashion, music, video, installations, glass working, origami, photography, and more.

They were to address the design process, their concept drawings, and the finished products. A jury reviewed all submissions and awarded scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 based on the student’s level of achievement. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years and apply to their tuition.
