SOUTHFIELD—An award-winning media production company has been retained to handle the marketing and branding efforts of Lawrence Technological University.
Yellow Flag Productions assumed responsibility for LTU’s marketing and media relations activities effective Nov. 7, LTU President Tarek Sobh and Yellow Flag President Lou Bitonti said in a joint statement.
“We are expecting great things from our expanded partnership with Yellow Flag,” Sobh said. “They have been successfully marketing our growing athletic programs for several years now, and going forward, we believe they will be equally successful in marketing LTU’s expanding and unique interdisciplinary technologically-focused academic programs that prepare students for the industries of tomorrow and for job titles that do not even exist yet. We expect that Yellow Flag’s deep media and marketing expertise will inform potential students and their families – locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally – that a Lawrence Tech education is transformative and leads to rewarding, high-paying careers in engineering, architecture, computing, design, business, and the sciences.”
Yellow Flag provides a variety of production services to local and national companies and organizations, including streaming video, TV commercials, TV programs, event management, web design, social media management, and graphic design. In addition to LTU, Yellow Flag has produced the Detroit Athletic Club’s High School Athlete of the Year Award program and has provided production services to high school robotics competitions. Among its digital productions are the “State Champs!” high school sports show and the “Robozone” high school robotics show.
Yellow Flag has been nominated for 16 Michigan Emmy awards for its TV productions, and has won eight times.
“We have a strong presence in the high school market, which is important for LTU,” Bitonti said. “And we have an experienced staff that can bring expanded services to LTU’s initiatives as the creative university of the future.”
In the transition, LTU media relations director Matt Roush has joined Yellow Flag as managing editor of LTU news bureau services, and LTU web coordinator Gabrielle VanAmberg has joined Yellow Flag as director of LTU web services.
