SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—Lawrence Technological University will host Engineer for a Day on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, offering high school students an immersive opportunity to experience engineering through hands-on labs, collaborative projects, and direct interaction with faculty and professional engineers.
Designed for students in grades 9 through 12, Engineer for a Day allows participants to explore multiple engineering disciplines, including robotics, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, artificial intelligence, and audio technology.
Students will work in LTU’s advanced labs and makerspaces, gaining firsthand insight into how engineers approach real-world challenges.
Engineer for a Day reflects LTU’s commitment to experiential, career-connected education. Rather than observing from the sidelines, students actively engage in the engineering process, building confidence and clarity about their academic and career interests.
The program also provides parents and educators with a clear view of LTU’s engineering approach and the support systems available to students pursuing technical degrees.
The event is free to students, but advance registration is required and space is limited.
