SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Lawrence Technological University will introduce plans for its next industry center, the Healthy Aging Innovation Center, at an event called Innovate 2026 on Friday, April 10.

LTU officials say the new center will approach the future of aging through human-centered design, technology and invention. At the event, the aim is to share information about the Center’s plans, the innovation process, and new advancements aimed at helping  people age at home safely, independently, and with dignity.

Keynote speakers at the event will be Josh Linkner, a five-time tech entrepreneur, investor and New York Times best-selling business and innovation book author, and Sheri Rose, CEO and co-founder of Thrive Center Inc., a Louisville, Ky.-based developer of aging innovations and a smart home model for seniors.

There will also be a panel discussion moderated by Ed Kelly of WJR Radio, including Heidi Morano, associate professor in LTU’s College of Engineering and an expert on human-centered design; Christine Burkette, CEO of the consulting firm Promising Integrations, a company bridging technology and education; and Brenda Price, associate director of the AARP in Detroit.

The event, sponsored by HAP CareSource, will run Friday, April 10 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is no charge for the event but registration is required by Thursday, April 2. To register, visit https://tinyurl.com/2c75pa55.
