LTU Earns Career Development Recognition from Colleges of Distinction

July 7, 2025

Southfield, MI, June 26, 2025Colleges of Distinction is proud to recognize Lawrence Technological University for its exceptional commitment to preparing students for lifelong career success. As a recipient of the 2025-2026 Career Development badge, LTU has demonstrated a clear dedication to helping students translate their college experience into meaningful careers.

Earning a college degree is an important milestone, but a successful transition to the workforce requires more than a diploma, especially in the face of economic uncertainty. Institutions awarded the Career Development badge have shown that they offer the tools, resources, and guidance that make all the difference.

“Career services can often be treated as an afterthought, but not at LTU,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer at Colleges of Distinction. “Its approach to career development is deeply embedded in the student experience from day one through graduation.”

In awarding this recognition, Colleges of Distinction evaluates schools based on their delivery of career-centered programming in the following resources:

  • Integrated Career Exploration and Preparation
      • Introduction to the career services office during new student orientation and the first semester.
      • Collaboration with academic departments to integrate career resources into the classroom.
      • Guidance to help students navigate the services available at different stages of their academic journey.
      • Emphasis on career and major exploration across all fields of study.
  • Accessible Programs and Training
      • 24/7 online access to career services resources.
      • One-on-one counseling appointments for personalized assistance.
      • Services such as self-assessments, résumé and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and networking support.
      • Workshops and events to enhance job search skills and receive feedback.
  • Dedicated, Career-Centered Staff
    • Both career and personal assessments to help students gain self-awareness and explore their interests.
    • Employ dedicated staff members for employer relations and corporate partnerships.
    • Facilitate mentorship and internship programs to connect students with alumni and industry professionals.
