Letter From the Dean

Dear Students, Staff, Faculty, Alumni, Partners, and Friends,

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I join Lawrence Technological University as the new Dean of the College of Engineering. LTU has built a remarkable legacy defined by ‘Theory and Practice,’ hands-on learning, and industry partnerships to equip students to solve real-world problems and lead with curiosity, integrity, and purpose. I am honored to become part of such a mission.

As I step into this role, my priority is to build upon this strong foundation while guiding the College of Engineering toward new opportunities for growth and impact.

In the months ahead, I look forward to working closely with faculty to strengthen our academic programs, expand research initiatives, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the university. I am committed to supporting our students by enhancing experiential learning, promoting entrepreneurship, and ensuring every student has access to the tools, mentorship, and experiences needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Our partnerships with industry, community organizations, and alumni will continue to be a cornerstone of our success. Together, we will continue to connect classroom theory with professional practice, providing students with clear pathways to transform their education into meaningful careers.

Most importantly, I am eager to listen to your ideas, aspirations, and experiences. The strength of this college lies in its people, and I look forward to engaging with each of you as we chart the next chapter of engineering excellence at LTU.

The College of Engineering will create distinctive 21st-century programs focused on technology, project-based learning, and impactful research to empower the next generation of engineers to innovate, lead, and drive regional and global advances. We will transform this vision into reality through (a) an unwavering commitment to academic and research excellence, (b) an active pursuit of innovation and adoption of emerging technologies, and (c) a foundational spirit of collaboration and partnership.

Thank you for welcoming me into this extraordinary community. I am excited for the work ahead and confident that, together, we will shape a future defined by innovation, collaboration, and opportunity.

With warm personal regards,

Devesh Misra
