Letter From the Dean

Dear CoBIT Community,

At the College of Business and Information Technology, our purpose is simple: Connect. Empower. Succeed. Our mission is to create innovative business professionals equipped with technological skills using an interdisciplinary approach emphasizing theory and practice.

This edition of our digital newsletter showcases how we bring that mission to life across our community.

We begin with John Sammut, an LTU alumnus and serial entrepreneur whose engagement and generosity reflect the long-term value of an LTU education. We’re proud to welcome John to the classroom this semester as an instructor for MKT2123 Entrepreneurship, where he’s sharing real-world experience with the next generation of business innovators.

You’ll also read about Massood Omrani’s, Ph.D., global strategic management course, developed in partnership with CoAD Professor Scott Shall and the International Design Clinic. This collaboration gives students hands-on experience applying strategy in interdisciplinary contexts that have positive social impact.

We’re proud to highlight our newly refreshed Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program—designed for experienced professionals seeking to lead through applied research and innovation. Learn more and apply here.

Finally, we spotlight two faculty whose work exemplifies multidisciplinary impact: Warren Browne’s analysis of automotive tariffs and Yash Patel’s, Ph.D., research on medical imaging.

Thank you for supporting our college as we continue to connect students with opportunity, empower them through education, and prepare them to succeed as leaders in business and technology.

Warm regards,

Matthew Cole, Ph.D.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
