Summary

We are looking for a System Analyst to work with our team to install, configure, and maintain our software and hardware. This job will require someone who can both work independently as well as collaboratively as a team to ensure reliability and resiliency for our technology infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain enterprise software and hardware
  • Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes to university systems
  • Manage network servers and technology tools
  • Ensure appropriate access and security controls are implemented
  • Develop and Maintain system scripts for process automation and improvements
  • Proactively monitor systems for uptime and performance
  • Diagnose and resolve problems quickly
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and as necessary for departmental success
  • Effectively communicate to colleagues related to the position’s responsibilities including progress of work and ensure that standards for quantity and quality of work are met
  • Collaborate with colleagues to determine impact of proposed changes on computer operations and service to users
  • Work with LTU vendors and senior IT staff to obtain and make budget conscious recommendations to maximize technical capabilities and meet IT infrastructure needs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and as necessary for departmental success
Skills and Experience
  • 5+ proven experience as a System Analyst or similar role
  • Hands on experience managing enterprise IT technology and infrastructure systems
  • Experience with Linux based systems (Redhat preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Window server operating systems
  • Understanding of security best practices and knowledge of security systems (IDS, IPS, SIEM, VPN, Firewalls)
  • Experience with Enterprise networks (LAN, WAN) and Enterprise Virtualization (VMWare)
  • Experience with Bash Shell Scripting
  • Familiarity with other programming languages (such as Powershell, Ruby) and Databases (SQL)
  • Independent initiative to identify improvements and prevent problems
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to explain technical details
Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer related field or equivalent; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar environment.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
