» Job Description

The Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University is a manufacturing accelerator supporting growth of Michigan manufacturing.

Job Duties
  • Determine unrecorded costs and record transfer costs to produce all-in cost reports for Accelerator.
  • Establish processes as needed to comply with Grant Reporting
  • Assist with developing and maintaining effort reporting processes for Sponsored projects
  • Prepare financial reports specific to the Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University
  • Assist in overall financial audit preparation for LTU
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues and expenses
  • Provide instruction to departmental staff on Banner Forms as needed
  • Reconcile Banner Finance to other modules which feed data into G/L
  • Assist with Grant and overall Accelerator Budget reporting
  • Perform various account reconciliations and work to resolve any discrepancies
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
  • Identify needed improvement in accounting software systems
Other Responsibilities
  • Accounting project work as assigned (Banner Testing, process improvement, cross-function training)
  • Respond to external funding agencies accounting inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned by Controller or VP of Finance and COO of Accelerator
Qualification requirements

  • Accounting degree and 5 years’ experience
  • Experience with Grant/Sponsored project accounting, compliance and budgets
  • Fund Accounting experience(Understanding of balance sheet automated consolidation entries/process)
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations(GAAP, FASB, GASB, OMB circular A-21)
  • Preference given to experience in private non-profits with varied funding sources

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
