SUMMARY:
Lawrence Technological University, an NAIA Institution and member of the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference is accepting applications for a dynamic Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. This position will report to the Director of Athletics.
The Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach supports the mission of the college by leading and managing all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program while integrating data analytics to optimize performance, strategy, and recruitment of talented student-athletes and retaining them as well overseeing team practices and games, fostering a positive team culture, manage operating budgets, and ensuring the overall success and growth of the program.
The Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach provides the strategic oversight, supervision, guidance, and leadership to the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coaches. They will serve as a Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
JOB DUTIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight of full, part-time, graduate assistants, and volunteer coaches
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Three to five years of coaching experience in the collegiate setting and/or at a highly respected high school program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work non-traditional hours, including late night and weekends. Enthusiasm and willingness to develop, initiate, and actively recruit, retain, and develop student-athletes. Commitment to work and educate inclusively with a diverse student population. Sound administrative and supervisory skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to type and use computer programs such as word processing (MS Office Suite preferred), e-mail, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn other programs pertinent to the position. Must be organized and be able to prioritize work, good communication skills, both written and oral, ability to deal with people from various age groups, backgrounds and level of education. Proficiency with volleyball analytic tools, including Hudl and Volleymetrics, for performance evaluation and strategic planning. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, or other relevant platforms for tracking performance metrics and generating reports.
COMMENTS:
Hours may vary depending upon work assignment. This position requires the employee
to perform some responsibilities off campus. While acting as a representative of Lawrence Technological
University, it is important that the employee be knowledgeable and professional. Communication skills
(both oral and written), organizational skills, and the ability to handle changing priorities are essential for
success in this position. This position may require working evenings and some weekends (Saturday and/or
Sunday) especially during peak times of campus activity. Vacation time may not be approved during said
peak activity.
