SUMMARY

Lawrence Technological University has a unique and distinct outreach program within the county of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb. We also have an expanded outreach program with the Detroit Public School Community District (DPSCD). We have over 50 partner schools, we over a variety of dual enrollment courses and certificate programs within our high school partners home campus and some on the LTU campus in Southfield. We have five early middle colleges (EMC) with two additional EMC’s coming within the next two years.

We are looking for qualified adjunct professors in the fields of Mathematics, English Composition, Engineering, Architecture, Design, Media Communications, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Nursing.

We are looking to hire 8 new adjuncts that will be reviewed after one year for a full-time faculty position. These faculty will be paid a salary for each course, a development stipend for teaching in the high school and mileage to and from the high school. These positions will start in the Fall of 2025 with a possibility of some employment for the summer semester of 2025 at LTU.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The qualified faculty will have a Master’s degree in their field and/or extensive work experience and training in the above fields. The faculty will have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate young high school students in these fields of study as well as engage them in a team environment using technology as the tool. The faculty will be familiar with active and collaborative learning and project-based learning method and be able to execute these teaching styles in LTU’s learning environment.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
