Committed to inclusive, welcoming spaces on campus.

The Office of University Housing is committed to creating welcoming and inclusive spaces in the residence halls for all students, including those whose gender identity and/or expression differs from the sex assigned to them at birth. At LTU, we offer housing options to all students who may choose to live with roommates of any gender or sex, or who may prefer a room assignment and roommate that is not based upon gender.

University Housing is committed to maintaining inclusive spaces in the residence halls through:

  • Respect for and affirmation of students’ gender identities and/or expressions.
  • Prioritizing attention to students’ physical and emotional safety.
  • Enhancing students’ opportunities for success by finding the best match between the students’ needs and available options.

University Housing is dedicated to working individually with students seeking supportive living arrangements. If you are seeking such an arrangement, please contact the Office of University Housing at housing@ltu.edu. While the housing application has a required section for designating sex, and there is an optional box for disclosing gender, disclosure is not required and there is no special application process for gender inclusive housing.
