Future Engineers Put Theory to Practice at LTU’s ‘Engineer for a Day’

Southfield, Mich. (Feb. 13, 2026) — What does it really feel like to be an engineer?

Lawrence Technological University gave high school students a firsthand experience during its immersive Engineer for a Day event on Feb. 13. Students stepped into LTU labs and learning spaces to experience hands-on challenges, explore cutting-edge technology, and soak up the creativity and problem-solving that define engineering careers.

The event introduced participants to a wide range of engineering disciplines, including robotics, mechanical and biomedical engineering, civil engineering, artificial intelligence, motorsports engineering and audio technology. Students worked closely alongside LTU faculty and staff in interactive sessions that reflected the university’s signature emphasis on experiential learning and real-world career preparation.
