Gail Pietrzyk, DNP, RN, CNOR is adjunct faculty with Lawrence Technological University. Her mission as educator is to prepare students capacity, caring, and self-efficacy to thrive in the real world. Gail began her healthcare career as a high-school feeder in a long-term care facility. A lifelong learner, Gail continued her education with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Henry Ford Community College, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Oakland University and Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. Her experiences with Relationship-Based Care prompted her to return to school for her doctorate. Gail received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she concentrated in patient safety and quality.
Dr. Pietrzyk has held numerous leadership positions in healthcare where she promoted caring and healing environments for both patients and providers. Gail’s clinical expertise and passion for practice has focused on procedures. This encompasses a broad scope from Clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Centers to Surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, Hybrid, and Interventional Radiology areas of hospitals. Gail maintains clinical practice as Corporate Director for a large for-profit healthcare system. Her career takes her across the nation, where her experiences enable her to bring the importance of diversity and inclusivity to her students. In her current role, Gail provides strategic direction, standardization, integration and optimization of technology, while guiding national teams with caring to solve complex problems within hospitals and clinics. Gail translates these life experiences and skills to her students.
Dr. Pietrzyk holds professional memberships in AORN, ANA, and Signa Theta Tau. Her certifications include CNOR and SSBB. Gail was also recipient of the prestigious Nightingale Award for Nursing Administration in 2013. A seasoned presenter at state and national levels, Gail is a requested repeat presenter on patient safety, quality, and culture. She has created numerous educational modules and toolkits for a variety of adult learners in healthcare settings. Gail is passionate to translate didactic education into real world experiences and provide a solid foundation from which nurses can transform the future of healthcare.
