Cormac Phalen, originally from St. Petersburg, FL, transitioned from service in the US Army to earning a bachelor’s in architecture from Auburn University. Since 2012, he has brought his unique perspective to the Archispeak Podcast, offering a candid look at the architectural profession. Currently, Cormac applies his expertise gained of 25 years of practice at the architectural firm Ayers Saint Gross located in the Baltimore/Washington DC area, specializing in the design of higher education facilities both nationally and internationally. As a key member of the firm’s technical excellence committee, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing design through the tectonic rigor of high-performance educational typologies.
Cormac resides with his family in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI and explores architecture through travel, the lens of the camera and through the pages of his sketchbook.
