Professional Background

John Peponis is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Biomedical Engineering at Lawrence Technological University. A graduate of LTU, he holds both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and is dedicated to supporting student success by developing foundational skills and guiding research interests.

His areas of focus include biomaterials, tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, and engineering education. His technical work includes developing artificial blood vessels using plant-based structures and integrating them with bioprinting technologies, reflecting his interest in innovative biomedical solutions.
