Professional Background

Shannan Palonis serves as Assistant Director of Robofest at Lawrence Technological University. She supports the administration, coordination, and global outreach of Robofest, LTU’s international robotics competition program that engages K–12 students in autonomous robotics challenges designed to promote STEM and STEAM education.

Palonis has been involved with Robofest since 2015, first serving as program coordinator before becoming assistant director. In this role, she works with educators, volunteers, and international partners to coordinate competitions, support teams and site hosts, and expand opportunities for students to engage with robotics, computer science, and engineering.

Within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in LTU’s College of Arts and Sciences, Palonis contributes to outreach and educational initiatives that connect K–12 students and educators with hands-on robotics learning and STEM pathways.
