Mulder obtained his Bachelors of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University where he majored in International Business, Finance and German. His graduate work was completed at the University of Detroit Mercy where he obtained a Master of Arts in Financial Economics. During his graduate work, Mulder focused again on the International Trade, Monetary Policy and Financing.
In 1999, he took a position with American Express Financial Advisors, currently known as Ameriprise Financial, where he built his own business providing financial planning services to individuals and businesses. In 2010, he began teaching at Macomb Community College and found a true passion for teaching. By the fall of 2014, Daniel was a lecturer at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Lawrence Technological University in addition to Macomb.
By 2015, Daniel decided to sell his business and dedicate himself to teaching full-time. He brings 16 years of real world experience and examples in both the financial markets and economic modeling. Some of his outside activities include: family, traveling, camping, hiking, hunting and sailing. Mulder is originally from the Grand Haven area on the west side of Michigan. When asked where he grew up he often responds that he “was raised in Grand Haven but has yet to grow up.”
