Associate Professor of Practice
Heidi Morano is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Mechanical, Robotics, and Industrial Engineering at Lawrence Technological University, where she teaches interdisciplinary design courses focused on real-world, community-based challenges. Her work emphasizes human-centered design and preparing students to collaborate with stakeholders to develop practical, inclusive solutions. Her projects have focused on reducing barriers for people with disabilities to support independence and quality of life. More recently, she has expanded this work to older adults aging in place.
Recovering hockey mom who traded early-morning practices for a bit more sleep—mostly. Still an eternal optimist when it comes to the Detroit Lions and Detroit Red Wings (it builds character). Outside of that, she prefers to spend her free time on a yoga mat or a wooded trail.
Graduated from University of Michigan with a Masters’ in Applied Mechanics.
