Lawrence Technological University appoints Dr. Devesh Misra as Dean of the College of Engineering

These qualities define Dr. Devesh Misra, who will begin as Dean of the College of Engineering at Lawrence Technological University on Sept. 1, 2025.

Misra is a globally respected engineering leader, academic and visionary. He brings more than four decades of excellence in academic leadership, groundbreaking research, and an unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation of engineers to imagine, create, and lead with purpose. He most recently served as Founding Director of the Center for Structural and Functional Materials Research at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he was also a professor in metallurgical, materials, and biomedical engineering.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to โ€œDo not disturbโ€ since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select โ€œshare contentโ€ and โ€œscreenโ€ to share your cell phoneโ€™s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select โ€œstart broadcastโ€ from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view โ€“ but you will see โ€˜how you are doingโ€™ in the main Zoom session.
