Siyu Lei is an architectural designer at SmithGroup. She received her master’s degree in Architecture and Urban design from Columbia University and bachelor’s degree in Architecture from University of Dundee and Wuhan University.
With backgrounds in both urban design and architecture, her research focuses on turning quantitative data patterns into qualitative urban design solutions. She also thrives on developing informed and optimized design strategies through data analysis and machine learning methods.
Siyu is a passionate advocate of public transportation. Her research work on the efficiency of NE Queens bus network developed a better transit system for MTA New York, making the daily commute of residents living in the “transit desert” easier.
