Dr. Faisal Jahangiri is a distinguished neurophysiologist based in Dallas, Texas, internationally renowned for his expertise in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM). President and CEO of Global Innervation LLC, Dr. Jahangiri has made substantial contributions to the field, particularly in enhancing the safety and efficacy of surgical procedures.

With over three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Jahangiri has monitored and supervised more than 17,000 surgical procedures across over 300 hospitals in the United States, the Middle East, and Pakistan. His expertise includes neurosurgical, orthopedic, otolaryngology (ENT), vascular, and general surgeries, as well as interventional procedures, intensive care units (ICU), and epilepsy monitoring units (EMU).

Dr. Jahangiri is also involved in education, serving as an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas, and an Adjunct Professor at Labouré College of Healthcare in Massachusetts. He has developed and led online diploma and postdoctoral fellowship programs in Surgical Neurophysiology, emphasizing theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

His contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards, and he has a prolific academic output with over 60 research publications and several authored books. Dr. Jahangiri is also actively involved in professional organizations, such as ASNM, ASET, SSET, ISIN, APPNA, NASS, CAN, AANS, etc.) demonstrating his dedication to advancing high-quality neuromonitoring practices. Dr. Faisal Jahangiri’s extensive experience, dedication to education, and commitment to advancing the field of neurophysiology make him a pivotal figure in the medical community.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
