Erika Forest is a Michigan native with a passion for science. After completing her BSc in Biology from Grand Valley State University, she earned an MSc in Biology from Grand Valley State University in 2022, where her experience teaching laboratory courses and presenting her research on molecular mechanisms of aging helped spark her interest in science outreach. This interest was reinforced by her time as a microbiologist at Matrix Sciences, where she worked both in the lab and as a client liaison to detect, measure, and identify pathogens and other microorganisms to help ensure public health.
Erika joined Lawrence Technological University in 2024. Her work as the science outreach coordinator for the Department of Natural Sciences allows her to connect with future scientists, create hands-on STEM education programs, and get people just as excited as she is about biology, chemistry, and physics.
