Hello! I’m Alex, a designer passionate about bringing product experiences to life with animation. My days are spent at Duolingo, where I work on creative projects alongside product designers and engineers.

My fascination with design started in the early 2000s with Flash games and websites. This era of design and animation inspired me to blend art, code, and design into my own work. My love for design lead me from Kansas City to Detroit in 2014, where I studied Graphic Design at the College for Creative Studies.

Since graduating, I’ve worked at various studios and agencies, big and small, from 10 person studio environments to 12,000+ person advertising agencies.

Outside my day-to-day work, I enjoy tinkering with personal projects and exploring various animation styles and techniques.

  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
