Adjunct Faculty

Allyza Danica Valino is a young designer focused on creating spaces that promote social change. Having graduated from Lawrence Technological University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and in 2024 with a Master of Architecture, she aims to progress her career through community-based engagement and design impact. In 2023, she explored an architectural thesis focused on the effects of gentrification and displacement, and how the profession of architecture can alleviate the pressures of revitalization on underrepresented communities. She has volunteered in humanitarian work with the International Design Clinic (IDC), aiding in the design and construction of the Penguin Learn and Play Centre in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Currently, Allyza is a board member of the IDC and works as an associate designer at Fielding International, a global architectural and educational design firm specializing in school designs that encourage innovative teaching and learning pedagogies, involving efforts that actively engage school staff, students and community members to provide input in design. As a young woman of color with a passion for social change and equity, Allyza intends to impact and diversify the field of architecture and beyond by empowering others with agency and design.
