Professional Background

Sara Codarin is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Lawrence Technological University, College of Architecture and Design. Her research explores robotic fabrication, additive manufacturing, digital craft, ecological issues, computational workflows, and generative AI for world-building. She earned a Master’s Degree in Architecture and a PhD from the University of Ferrara, where she developed methodologies for integrating robotics into architectural restoration.

She is a co-PI on a National Science Foundation EPIIC grant and co-founder of the Prototyping Lab for Offsite Prefabrication, which investigates digital fabrication strategies for low-carbon construction.

  • Sara is the author of Robotics for Architectural Restoration, published by Routledge, and Architecture of Domesticity, published by Anteferma.
  • Her collaborative project Fabricated Combines on creative AI was selected for the main exhibition of the Venice Biennale Architettura 2025 at the Corderie dell’Arsenale.
