Suzanne Cleere, DNP, MSBA, RN, Caritas Coach, is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Lawrence Technological University. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Madonna University with a focus in executive leadership grounded in caring, unitary science. Her doctoral studies included an intensive semester at the University of Colorado, under the tutelage of legionary nursing leaders. During her doctoral studies she completed the course work and is a Caritas Coach, through the Watson Caring Science Institute.

Dr. Cleere’s MSN/MSBA is also from Madonna University, where she created independent studies abroad for her practicum requirements, expanding her understanding of culturally competent care. Her BSN preparation was at University of Detroit Mercy.

Dr. Cleere has over 44 years in nursing and 15 years as role Executive Nurse Officer.  In her leadership capacity, Dr. Cleere led inter-professional teams in ensuring patient safety and quality care delivery.  Additionally, she provided direction for the development of shared leadership, and led strategic planning, quality improvement, ethical committees and residency programs. Her passion for the art of nursing along with striving for authentic therapeutic relationships led Dr. Cleere to Relationship-Based Care. She assisted in imbedding the conceptual model throughout her healthcare system.  Later she became an expert consultant in this work and has taught the concepts, assisted in developing the model in healthcare systems around the country.

Dr. Cleere is an active member of nursing associations, including American Nurses Association (ANA), American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL), Sigma Theta Tau (STTI), Michigan ANA, and the Michigan Organization of Nurse Leaders (MONL).  Dr. Cleere has served as District Director for MONL and is actively engaged in committee work focusing on advocacy and education.

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
