University Historian
Bruce Annett is the University Historian at Lawrence Technological University, a role he assumed in August 2021. He has worked closely with six of LTU’s eight presidents, positioning him to document the university’s history and contributions to higher education.
Over a career spanning 50 years at LTU, he has held numerous communication and leadership roles. He served as vice president of marketing and public affairs from 2016 to 2021, overseeing publications, media relations, social media, branding, and the university’s website. He oversaw acquiring, restoring, and funding two early student projects that showcased LTU’s experiential education – the experimental, hand-built 1940s-era Hansmobile automobile and the Spirit of Lawrence Tech/Chappy airplane.
He concurrently served for 23 years as Director of Alumni Relations, managing major university events and expanding alumni engagement. He founded Lawrence Tech Magazine in 1977 and later served as Secretary to the LTU Board of Trustees.
