Abraham Alzoubi holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Wayne State University. His work explores the intersection of architecture and activism, focusing on land rights and spatial politics. He investigates how the built environment has been used to divide and displace communities and is committed to reclaiming architecture as a tool for community building and empowerment.
Much of Abraham’s work and passion is centered in the city of Detroit. He has worked for the community-focused design practice W/Purpose in Southwest Detroit and was recently selected as a fellow with Challenge Detroit, where he serves as a Project Coordinator for Clark Construction Group. His master’s thesis, which examined land dispossession and spatial resistance in Detroit, was awarded the University of Michigan’s Anti-Racism Research Grant.
In addition to his design and research work, Abraham is passionate about architectural education. He has twice served as Assistant Director of Taubman College’s ArcStart pre-architecture program.
