Jay Fanelli, B.S., CNIM

Program Director

Jay Fanelli B.S., CNIM, has been working in healthcare for more than 10 years, and as a certified neuromonitoring technologist for more than 8 years. He has extensive experience providing neurophysiologic monitoring for a variety of complex surgical procedures, and is excited to help bring advanced IONM education to students at LTU.

Dr. Laura Corrigan

Medical Director

Dr. Laura Corrigan is an actively practicing physician at Henry Ford Health and has 23 years of experience in the fields of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. She has an emphasis in EMG, neuromuscular medicine and intraoperative neuromonitoring. Dr. Corrigan received her medical degree from Wayne State University in 1997. She completed both her Neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in 2003. She has been active in intraoperative neuromonitoring for the past 5 years and now is doing this exclusively for Henry Ford Health. She is also a current board member for the AANEM (American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine) and the ANF (American Neuromuscular Foundation).

Corryn Marlinga

Clinical Coordinator

Corryn Marlinga earned her bachelor of Science Degree in Health Studies from Michigan State University with continuing education in a Master of Science at Rush University. She has been working in the healthcare profession for more than 10 years, and has extensive experience in providing neuromonitoring services during complex surgical scenarios, including neuro, orthopedic, vascular, and ENT procedures. She is excited to share her expertise with LTU students and further the IONM community.

Olivia Thompson-Tinsley

Administrative Assistant

Olivia Thompson-Tinsley is the Administrative Assistant in the Cardiovascular Perfusion and Intraoperative Neuromonitoring programs. Olivia has over six years’ experience of providing administrative support to the Biomedical Engineering Department. Her primary objective is to provide students with the essential resources and knowledge required to create a memorable college experience, culminating in a successful career upon graduation.

Amanda Flack has a PhD in Physiology. She is an enthusiastic educator committed to student success with proven expertise in curriculum development and educational technology implementation gained through over 10+ years leading virtual, face-to-face, & hybrid classrooms.

Jennifer Hayden, B.A., CNIM

Sim Lab Instructor

Jennifer Hayden has been working in healthcare for 14 years, and has been a certified neuromonitoring technologist for over 11 years. She has extensive experience in providing neuromonitoring in pediatric and adult patients, participating in complex surgeries in ortho, neuro, vascular and ENT scenarios. She has trained over 18 new technicians and spent the last 2 years working with the students at the University of Michigan. She is looking forward to working with the students at Lawrence Tech University and preparing them to enter the operating rooms.

Faisal Jahangiri, MD, CNIM, D.ABNM, FASNM, FASET

Dr. Faisal Jahangiri is a distinguished neurophysiologist based in Dallas, Texas, internationally renowned for his expertise in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM). President and CEO of Global Innervation LLC, Dr. Jahangiri has made substantial contributions to the field, particularly in enhancing the safety and efficacy of surgical procedures.

With over three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Jahangiri has monitored and supervised more than 17,000 surgical procedures across over 300 hospitals in the United States, the Middle East, and Pakistan. His expertise includes neurosurgical, orthopedic, otolaryngology (ENT), vascular, and general surgeries, as well as interventional procedures, intensive care units (ICU), and epilepsy monitoring units (EMU).

Dr. Jahangiri is also involved in education, serving as an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas, and an Adjunct Professor at Labouré College of Healthcare in Massachusetts. He has developed and led online diploma and postdoctoral fellowship programs in Surgical Neurophysiology, emphasizing theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

His contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards, and he has a prolific academic output with over 60 research publications and several authored books. Dr. Jahangiri is also actively involved in professional organizations, such as ASNM, ASET, SSET, ISIN, APPNA, NASS, CAN, AANS, etc.) demonstrating his dedication to advancing high-quality neuromonitoring practices. Dr. Faisal Jahangiri's extensive experience, dedication to education, and commitment to advancing the field of neurophysiology make him a pivotal figure in the medical community.

Dr. Jahangiri’s work continues to set high neurophysiology standards to enhance surgical procedures' safety and outcomes, benefiting countless patients and inspiring future generations of neurophysiologists.

Clare Gale BS, CNIM, R.EEG/EPT.

Program Instructor

Clare Gale has spent 43 years in the Neurodiagnostics Profession, with more than 35 years spent in the IONM field. She has been the Owner/CEO of Spinemon Inc for 22 years. She currently works as the Remote Technical Supervisor & QA Team member for Comprehensive NeuroMonitoring, LLC, and instructs IONM students as an Adjunct IONM faculty member at Laboure’ College. Clare has received the Distinguished Service award from ASET as a faculty member and IONM program director, and has served as the organizations IONM Interest section Leader. She served on the ASNM board of directors from 2020-2024, and has also served as their secretary and treasurer in the past, receiving the ASNM Service award. She has been a member of the CAAHEP/CoA-NDT board of directors since 2016. Clare is a grandmother to 6 beautiful grandchildren, and is excited to share her years of experience and knowledge with the GCIONM students at Lawrence Technological University.
