The course provides an overview of U.S. and international business topics as well as ethical issues related to business. The course introduces students to each of the functional areas of business, including marketing, accounting, finance, operations, human resources, management, and business intelligence. The course is designed to help students appreciate the interrelationship of these concepts, the role of business in society and, for non-business students, the relationship of business to their field of study. Other topics include: the role of interpersonal networking in career planning and professional development, sustainability in business, and entrepreneurship.
