Therapy Services

Therapy services are provided to assist students who are experiencing things like: anxiety, depression, academic concerns, relationship issues, stress, minority stress or marginalization, identity development, sexual violence, adjustment to university life, family conflict, grief, organization and time management challenges, trauma, and more.  Most students meet individually for 45 minute appointments with the counselors.  If there is a request from students, counselors will offer group counseling.

Students interested in using our services should fill out our forms and schedule an initial appointment by clicking on this link: Online Scheduling. You must use a computer (not a cellphone) and be logged into the campus VPN to use the online scheduling link . You will meet with a counselor to determine your concerns and the best plan to meet your goals. Appointments are offered Monday - Friday between 9am-5pm.

Due to the demand for services, we cannot guarantee that students can receive frequent and regular (i.e. weekly or biweekly appointments). In some cases, we may suggest and help students find counselors outside of the university to better meet their needs.

Consultation

Lawrence Tech faculty, staff, students and parents who have concerns about a student are encouraged to contact us. The clinicians are available to listen and can help develop a plan to assist the student of concern. The counselors follow confidentiality laws and cannot disclose whether a student is currently in treatment.

Referrals

At times, a referral to an off-campus provider best serves the student's mental health needs.  We have partnered with Mi Resource to provide a listing of local clinicians.  Students may access this list on their own or after speaking with one of our staff.
